Course Content
It is envisaged that by the end of this course of training the learner will be able to answer questions on and perform the following: ➢ Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator ➢ Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook and be familiar with sources of information risk assessment and SSoW and any relevant legislation (permit requirements) ➢ Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain the functions ➢ Be able to locate and identify the key controls and their functions ➢ Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with the manufacturers and legislative requirements ➢ Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for high pressure water jetting ➢ Select suitable type of equipment relative to the work being undertaken ➢ Conduct all safety checks at the work area. Set up and route equipment including exclusion zone ➢ Establish correct method of communication with pump operator and safety person ➢ Prepare the machine for use and operate safely and efficiently ➢ Environmental considerations ➢ Storage and transportation of equipment ➢ Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures ➢ Remove exclusion zone ➢ Sign off permits to work and lock down procedures
